K750 and Cingular.
This may be a stupid question. But if I buy this phone unlocked say on eBay. Put my Cingular SIM card in it. Will it work just on the 1900 band? Or will it just not connect to a service at all?
geno.

I'm doing a ton of research on this actually. From what I've gathered, the phone should work where you have GSM 1900 service. It will not work on GSM 850 networks obviously. And yes, your current SIM card should work fine in the unlocked phone.
If you go ahead with the purchase, you should post your results.

So I bought the phone finally. I posted a review, you should read it if you are still thinking of buying this phone.

I have the k750i on Cingular in NJ and it works for the most parts. Sometimes in the back woods I have one or two bars but never had a problem making a call. Using 1900 only though gives me problems sometimes in steel buildings or underground like basements. Im willing to make those sacrifices for a phone full of features that actualy work. Use to have a v710 from Verizon. Great service but crappy phone. Now I got a great phone and ok service.

I bought my K750 on eBay in June 2005 also. You might be experiencing problems with Cingular's GSM 850 because they are taking this network down in most markets.
I lost service Nov 6, 2005 in Oklahoma City. At this time, Cingular is only offering the GSM 850 network in my area. They told me this is going to take place in most Cingular markets.
