Cingular has removed the regular 6230 from its website...
a sign that the 6230i may be on the way??
hopefully cingular carry this phone because it's far more powerful than the new 6101/6102 flip and it has the familiar awesome nokia mini stick design!
i have considered a flip though, the motorola v635, but i can't buy it with a contract in the US, even though it is is quad band.
also the nokia 6682 is a very nice phone.

in a couple of weeks. I was told this yesterday. He also confirmed that the 6682 would be available soon as well.
Interesting that the 6230i isn't even mentioned at the Nokia USA web site. Someone at Nokia US needs to get on the ball.

thanks jorma! i am actually in the bay area as well so that is great news! did you get any price info??
so hopefully we can see this baby by september... i think it's a better value and more fully featured phone than the 6101/6102 and probably a lot cheaper than the 6682!
there's a great review of it on gsmarena...

The guy at the store said he didn't have firm pricing info. He thought it would probably go for around $200 or so, with a contract. But again, he didn't have firm prices yet.
I agree that the feature set on this phone is outstanding.

wow that's pretty steep for a contract, i mean it has a lot of features but it's not that flashy looking, like a razr or something!
looks like i might have to get one through a third party, like letstalk.com, uisually they are cheaper and offer more rebates...

RE "it's far more powerful than the new 6101/6102 flip"
Can I ask why you say this? Is there a way to knowwhich phone is stronger in reception than another? (besides heresay?) Thanks! 😳
...
when i said more powerful i meant in terms of the phones abilities, like what it can do. i don't really know about the reception, but you can look at the nokia website yourself and see that the 6230i has a more powerful camera (although like the 6101.6102 it doesn have a flash, like the 6682), it has removeable and larger memory, it can play mp3's, has FM radio support, etc etc you get the idea.

Cingular has pulled the 6230 off the web because of the software issue they are having with it. Unless you like hard resetting your phone a few times a day and having a menu that auto scrolls and never stops. I had an original 6230 and lost it. The new one i received from lockline insurance is awful.
