It is on the new approved device list on verizon's internal network (info center) but it lists it under the PDA device's list....This would imply it is either running palm or PPC....Anyone have input on this I dnot see it running the normal system becuase that would not be a PDA then...

Does it say anything about the internet capabilities...

it has the new vzw standardized sw but it will include wireless sync. its actually a nice phone, txting is easy because of the qwerty keyboard and vcast looks great on the large inner screen.
...
It is not a PDA in terms of pocket PC, smartphone, or palm. Period, end of story.
I would say that it is still fair to classify it as a pda since it will provide a more robust PIM than most "just phones".
It will likely be the 1st "just phone" to offer wireless sync for true email access as well, thus further grouping it with the pdas.
...
Sorry, no wireless sync. End of story. Only mobile web 2.0. bye.
...
As much as I hesitate to begin an argument with an idiot, YES IT DOES.
For those of you who would like additional details, please see my other posts.

The phone is running the standard LG software, not palm or windows operating system. It has the exact same menu as the LG-8100. I've seen the phone and held it in my hands about a month ago. It is a very sweet phone and is very different than anything else on the market for Verizon.
...
I don't know where you were able to hold this phone unless you work for Verizon. But then again, if you worked for Verizon, I would hope you would know that the "menu" is not standard for LG, but rather will be the standard VZW UI. It is already being shown on leaked pics of the RAZR and Samsungs. This phone is hot though and will certainly be the best non-pda phone on the market for any company for awhile.
...
As far as the UI goes, LG actually designed this UI and VZW decided to adopt it as the new standard, so he's right, in a way, whether he knows it or not.
...
Actually you are wrong. VZW created the UI, the LG 7000 was the first phone to adopt it. (the first to break down and take it up the charging port if you know what i mean) Do you know how many issues it would cause if one manufacturer's UI was used in competitors phones? Do you even know what the hell you are talking about?
...
maverick is right. I do work for verizon in the marketing dept and we actually get the phones several months before anyone else has even seen them. VZW dictates the phones UI. Thats why the samsung A970 has the same UI as the LG 9800, "enough said".
Let me just say, and I know factually that the 9800 does not have the wirelesssync s/w or anything else associated with the data usage that the PDAs' have for e-mail. However it is very nice though. It only has mobile web 2.0. POP access would be nice but sorry y'all
personally. I like it though. It's a very cool device.
...
I never said that VZW did not dictate the phone's UI. If they didn't, then why would all the phones be adopting the standard? It wouldn't be voluntarily. That's for sure.
You may want to recheck your sources as far as whether this handset supports Wireless Sync or not. All the documentation I've seen actually has information on how Wireless Sync will work with this handset. I was actually quite pleased to see it on the Approved Devices List under PDAs.
...
I dont give a **** about the Approved Devices List under PDAs.
It wont have wireless sync.
Git it.
...
Whatever you say, dude.

Please except My apology
...
please except my apology. I work in the dept that happens to work exclusivly with Treos', pocket PCs' and blackberries. I actually got to use this phone for several hours, but its data capabilities were disabled. I shot my mouth off too fast. your right.
On another note, I do know is that the wireless sync will need to be manually synced to receive email and will not offer a push technology. see ya
...
actually, it will be a time sync, like every hour on the hour and it will have the option to pull. Please, seriously shut up before you confuse everyone.
...
No apologies necessary though I do thank you. Preliminary information is never completely reliable and most of us understand that. Can't wait to see this phone. And as Maverick13 so eloquently stated, it will have a timed push and option to pull so I'm still happy with it.
...
actually it DOES have wireless synce access for $10 a month which is MOU unless you have VCAST for $15 which will give you unlimited push airtime for e-mail and browsing the web. I wish some of you knew what the hell you guys were talking about before you open it and unleash all hell!!! Seriously, think before you speak. And if you don't know, don't talk...
...
I was educated otherwise. If I am wrong, then I concede. However, there's no need to get snippy.
Dick.
