The LGVX9800 will be avaible september 26. For business to business sales only at first. The phones reception is ok not best this phone is definitely for the customer who wants all the bells and whistles and not so much reception. Works great in the city but strugles in rural communties. Also in late november early december verizon wireless is planning to release the motorola razr. Watch out cingular customers this phone is amazing and gets a signal everywhere. Take care of it and it wont let u down. I have had an oppurtunity to test both these units and these are awesome units.

You know i dont get it. for some reason trimode phones handle calls so much better than all digital phones but it really makes no sence since even trimode doesnt normaly switch to analog. just seems phones are getting worse reception wise. i would kill for a new phone with star tac reception.

Reason they handle it better is because of the fact they are trimode. They have more signal options even w/o switching to analog. Recption wise yeah, they have a ways to go. When EV-DV comes out things will change hopefully.

What do you mean by "singal options"? Is there more than 1900/850 digital and 850 analog on a tri-mode? I thought that's what tri-mode was... but what do I know.

Be aware that at least until recently (haven't trudged through Moto's docs recently - but at lease as of the 720/730's)Moto does not/did not tune with any regard for PCS. Other cell mfg's aim for a midpoint between PCS and Cellular - Moto aims squarely at Cellular. This means all else being equal, a Moto will lead the pack in a primarily Cellular market - and trail it where PCS dominates. Granted the difference is small - but can make an impact in a fringe area.
