Do you need a Qwerty keyboard?

It really depends what you want. My girlfriend and I just came from a Circuit City where the VZW rep showed me the dummy VX9800 and on the way home, she and I were discussing whether I really needed this handset. It's definitely a nifty new toy with all the necessary shinyness, but I just don't think I would make use of it. I don't really need the Wireless Sync, I probably wouldn't use the MP3 player, and I sure don't want the VCAST, so it's probably not worth the $349 for me. But if you find you could use those features, then more power to you. I'd like to wait for the Razr myself, but even then I'm not sure. Eh. We'll see.

Definitely wait on the razr unless u live in the city and dont travel to rural areas people think the lg 8100's bad with an antenna thank about how this one is without an antenna. I have had the oppurtunity to mess with the 9800 and it works great around a strong signal. Although the features are fantastic. The razr ive used to and it is just a great phone.

when you said you used the razr too... have you used the new cdma razr with verizon?

I think you need to wait for the VX9800 too; it's not out yet. ðŸ¤

WEll are you looking for a quality built item with decent reception and a ton of features you may never use(9800) or are you looking for a polished turd(razr) It may look nice but i am waitng to see if moto has finally fixed the bugs on their cdma products. Good thing i didn't hold my breath it has been three years since they released anything with more than a 40% service return rate in my area. The rf on their products is great but build quality and sofware is a joke! At leaste they are fixing the charging port(step one forward). I would stick with lg, they have never steared me wrong and we a few that need serviced here so they seem to be a safe bet if you want to skip service headaches down the road. Don't get me wrong the razor is sweet...

I'm waiting for the RAZR to come out before I get another phone and will then compare the two. I figure if the LG-9800 holds true to form like the last 4 LG's I had (3 8000's and 1 8100) then it will be full of issues and problems. Of course, they will probably have some sort of fix for the bugs by the time the RAZR is released and it would be better to compare them then.

Hands down definitly buy an LG. The 9800 may not be for everyone , but as far as quality LG is the way to go!
