LG V VX-9800
Bluetooth to a PC
I have a Belkin USB bluetooth adapter. It's hot and discovery is on. I have the BT power hot on the 9800. The handset can see the computer, but when I go to pair the devices and enter the passkey (what i think is "0000") it say's "Failed to Pair." Also, I've tried to search for the device from the PC (Devices>Add>Search) and nothing is found even when the phone can see the computer.
I've even poked around the service menu and turned on and off the BT DUN mode.
Anyone have any luck pairing the 9800 to a PC? Or know if the passkey is something other than 0000? Your help and input is appreciated. Thanks!
On it you choose the little BT icon in your system tray and then choose advanced options.
From there you make sure to set Discovery to report all BT devices.
Under local services you need to make sure to set the BT serial port option to ON and let it assign a COM port.
Once this is done your set your phone to search for BT devices.
The phone will find your computer and vise versa. Once this happens your computer will say something like it has found (the name of your phone) do you want to connect, or something like that. You should be prompted soon for a passkey, on your computer just enter in any code, on your phone you will need to enter in the same code. ...

So transfering data- that's where things are blocked? For instance, I'd like to transfer or sync my calendar from Outlook to the phone. is this possible?
The file system allows your to add pictures, ringtones, things like that. You can not at this point make changes to the contact lists, the calendar, etc.
You can use Outlook to transfer your contacts via Bluetooth, but it is a vCard export function (under the File menu) of Outlook, it is one at a time, and it is not perfect. (Not sure if it works with Outlook Express or only Outlook)....BUT...Atfer several hours of trying to get the vCards to export from Outlook I just ended up punching the contacts in via the phone...took a few hours, but its done.
