I tried out this phone at Best Buy in NH......It's nice, but way too much money for what it delivers.... ☚ī¸ Bummer, I looking forward to seeing this phone.

And will someone PLEASE tell Verizon to give us more access to at least get rid of, or change colors to that UGLY red bar!!!

I played with this phone for about 15 minutes at the best buy here (Columbus, OH)

I own the LG VX8100 and was surprised that they delay on the camera on the A970 was just about the same as the 8100. The picture was a little better (2 mega pixels vs. 1.3). One of the biggest perks was the length of video it allows. On the one I tried it would have let me take approx. 1:19:00 of continuous video...only limited by the size of your memory card (which at this point only goes to 512 MB). The hinge on the flip seemed very sturdy (I was defiantly surprised by that). I was concerned that if you would swivel the screen (which you must do to see the picture you are taking upright) that any kind of jar to it would break it off. The arrow keys, ...

Great "mini" review Monica! I also checked out this phone yesterday, and share a lot of your impressions about it.

How can people play around with a phone for a few minutes - or even an hour - and become an expert or critic on how good (or bad) the phone really is??? You guys who have picked up the phone at Best Buy and played around with it may be exactly correct in your assessment; however, before I make a decision on this phone I will wait for Verizon to release it and let people who have had the phone for more than an hour comment on whether it's a winner or loser!

Well...if you would go back and re-read my "review" of this phone you will not see a single thing suggesting that I am an expert of this phone. I specifically stated I played around with the phone for 15 minutes, and in that time those were the things I noticed.

The reason I have posted my "review" of it was because I know not many people have had the chance to even see this phone in person. At no point in time did I try to convince someone one way or another, nor did I insist that anyone take my opinion and go run out and get the phone.

So you go ahead and wait for the other reviews of people who own the phone. In the meantime I will be awaiting other people's opinions whether they have owned the phone for a month or they held it f...

Well I did say "expert or critic" - I am sure you are not an expert but definitely a critic (as one who writes a review of something). But, I repeat: just playing around with a phone for 15 minutes I just can't believe you learned all facets of this phone.

And to the other person above: you may be familiar with all of Verizon's phones and comparing this against those; however, to be fair one would think that a true test of the phone would be (a) how is the reception in various places (home/on the road/in the department store, etc.); (b) is the ear piece volume and speakerphone more than adequate; (c) how is the camera in low light as well as in bright sunshine; etc.; (d) is the bluetooth as good as it should be. Testing a phone inside Be...

Hi guys,

Here is the short and skinny to my point of this thread....I can go into the specifics of what I didn't like about the phone, but it would just take up too much space. I'm a cell phone junky, and I've been waiting for this phone to launch for 6 months now, and I really wanted this phone to be great as to what the data sheet from Samsung provided, and my biggest attribute when I review a phone is that basically it comes down to what the phone provides vs. the cost.

And I tested every option on that phone that I wanted to see for an hour, and between the quality of the options (bluetooth, memory, video, speed, etc.)and the constriction of the phone (you guys are dead on about the worry about that swivel....waaay to free for m...

I agree with everything you said by the way 🙂

Thanks for your input.

I too, checked it out and my first impressions were disappointment. Everything I read about it, I thought it would be so great. Well, it's not, IMO. The swivel was way to easy. Even if it was stronger than it felt, I don't like that it can move so easily. Also the screen looks small and is so thin, feels cheap. The shiny silver arond the huge contraction on the side looks cheasy. I know, what I'm talking about is just looks, but I want a phone that not only works as a phone but looks good too. This didn't do it for me at all. Wouldn't trade my 8100 for it even it were free.

Disclaimer: Opinions expressed in the post are just that, opionions. Take them as you wish. To each their own.
