Does anyone know if this phone will actually have real music that you can use for ringtones??? I know it has the transflash memory card for listening to mp3's, but I'm wondering if you can even buy real music through getitnow. I was told by a few people that this phone would not have real music ringtones with words, just those stupid polyphonic beeps and rings. I was hearing that the 970 would be like all the other samsung phones and not do real music for ringtones. I'm questioning this though because the 970 has speakerphone, something samsungs have never had. If anyone knows anything please let me know.

I have the same issue. I was all excited about using my personal Mp3's as ringtones, and someone at Verizon claimed you could do so with a TransFlash card (though they have no clue since they don't yet have a working model). I tried everything I could think of, and I think Verizon is taking the joy out of using yet another phone, because they want you to waste your money on THEIR pathetic selection of ringtones, which cannot even be transferred from phone to phone when you switch to a new handset.
The only thing I could think of, was to use the built-in recorder and try to record the song being played on another device. I'm sure it won't sound quite as good, but perhaps it would work?
Along the same lines, is it possible to use VCast ...

On the first version of the v710 I had I could actually download songs from my computer to my transflash card, and then put the transflash card into my phone, and copy songs from my transflash card to my phones memory, and then use it as a ringer(*Note I also edited the songs on my computer to 30 seconds or less so that they would fit onto my phones memory). Then I started having issues with my 710's bluetooth (static with the headset) so I had verizon send me a refurbished, but newer version of the phone (newer software) and the copy feature was taken off the new phone!!! So verizon yet again realized that they werent making every possible dollar they could from me and crippled an awsome feature!!! Can't say that I'm surprised though. I a...

QPST and BITPIM are programs that you can use to send videos and pics, ringers, and mp3 to the phone, QPST is kinda like hacking the phone, and BITPIM is something that allows you to just download those to the phone! you need a data cable for both!! i use both on i my LG VX8100 and can do anything with the phone.

Where do you find a cable for this phone, and does it come with the software you need, or where can you get it? The phone is great, but I was highly disappointed with the fact that Verizon prevents you from using Mp3s on your transflash card as ringtones. It's not quite a deal-breaker for me, but close.
