So who have you guys found to have "the price" on cards? 256, 512, or even 1G. Best price and reliable source? πŸ™‚

For the most part, the cards are at a fixed price anywhere you go, varying in price only by a few bucks. Try ebay.

Check buy.com. If they ever get the cards in, you can get them for $48. If you sign up for one of their Visa cards you can get $30 discount on your first order which will bring the cost of the 512mb card down to about $18. The only problem is they haven't had stock on this item which I have been following for about the past 3 weeks. If you are patient, they probably will. I wasn't. I ended up buying mine at Verizon.

Check with Verizon. The price there is $64 for the 512mb chip. However, if you are employed by certain companies that have arrangements with Verizon for employee discounts, you could be eligible for a considerable discount betweem 10 and 25 percent. I work for a hospital in Cleveland to whom Verizon gives employees a 25% accessory discount. I didn't know about the discount until I mentioned where I worked and just asked Verizon to check if perhaps they gave them a discount. With my discount, I only paid $48 for my card, $18 for the card reader, and $22 for a Platronics 320 bluetooth headset. Not bad, I would say.

I looked at Best Buy, Circuit City and Comp Usa. I only found the 256mb cards at those stores for about $45 or so. I ended up buying mine at Verizon for $64.99 and I got the 512mb card. 😎

Color me obtuse, but what's the difference between TransFlash and Mini SD cards? I've been considering buying the A950 because I thought it uses a Mini SD, which I have a 1 GB that I could use in the phone for pics and MP3. Would I instead have to reinvest in another type of card, or is this phone compatible with Mini SD? ThanksπŸ™‚

Transflash (or microSD) is even smaller than miniSD...another format altogether. Not compatable with miniSD, but it uses an SD adapter to transfer files in a card reader.
