i just received a sandisk 512mb card. i transfered my pics to the card and was able view and copy them on mypc without a problem. i them tried to copy mp3 files from my pc to the card and keep getting error that the card can't be read. the card is not locked and i eve tried to format the card using windows xp. i then noticed that the card is listed as being 484mb in my computer. i cant believe that the fat table takes up so much room.
is it my sd reader or my card?

any ideas?

i found the prob. its my build in SD reader in my emachines pc. it reads but screws up on writing. i tried another external SD reader/writer at work and it works great. i coppied mp3 to the my_mp3s folder and they play great.

i'll play with ring tones later
