WMA player
Has anybody have a fix for this?
My wma player works fine when I have a signal. When I'm home and have no reception the song on the player breaks up. Same song but with reception and it sound great.
Does anybody know of a setting to change?
Any fixes or should I be going back to VZ?
Thanks
James

In order to use the player, you have to have a signal. Same thing with the other phones that have MP3 or VCAST Music players. It is dependant on the service.

So this means that I can't use the player on an airplane if I can get a signal? 😡

How did you get songs onto your A950?

I used a card reader and wmplayer10. I also have a 512mb trans flash card. Converted .wav on cd to .wma and just copied to the trans flash card.

You don't have to have a signal to listen to music, because you can put the phone into standalone (airplane) mode, and the music player works fine. I think the problem is that when you don't have very good signal, the resources in the phone are spent trying to get a signal, and it causes the music to break up (kind of like when a computer starts to freeze up- the phone is thinking too hard). I have the same problem when I'm working out at my Ymca, so sometimes I'll just put the phone into standalone mode (since I'm not planning on taking any calls anyway) and that fixes it. Hope that helps.

I didn't try putting in standby mode.
I'll try tonight when I get home to see if that is the problem and let you know.
Thanks

😁 Well I placed the phone in standby mode and lo and behold the player is as clear as a bell.
Thanks Ashleyanne for you help.
I reread the manual last night and there is no mention of this. Just say stanby mode doesn't allow calls in or out.
Thanks
