troubles with mp3 player
I just bought my phone this past week and have had no luck getting my mp3s to play on it. I bought a transflash card and transfered the mp3s on to it. When I insert the card back into my phone I am unable to access any of my mp3s. Does anyone know what the problem might be.
Thanks for the help!

Yes. You can only put WMA's on the phone. You can still put them on the card without using the data cable or Windows Media Player 10, but if you do it by the means you are doing it, then you need to use a program to convert your MP3's into WMA's then put them into the MY_MUSIC folder on the card.

Hmm, that's not been my experience with the transflash card. I move MP3s all the time from my computer directly onto the transflash card, using a USB card reader, and they play just fine. Granted, I haven't tried putting MP3s directly into the phone's memory; but my 950 doesn't have any trouble recognizing and playing MP3s from the transflash card. There was one time that the phone didn't recognize anything on the card, and when I looked, I realized I hadn't pushed it in all the way; those transflash cards sure are tiny little suckers! 😲

I've got a couple new questions, though; perhaps you can help me with them...
1)When I voice dial, the computerized voice response is hard to understand. For example, I might say, "Call Suzanne" - the computerized voice will sound like it's saying "Call Sinzin", then I'm not sure whether to say Yes or not, for fear that I'm calling someone I don't want. Do you know if there's any way to fix that?
2) I've taken some videos on the 950 that I wanted to transfer into my computer, so I chose the MOVE option and moved them onto the transflash card. Then when I put the card into the USB card reader on my computer, they didn't show up,...

As far as the version you can check it by going into the menu to SETTINGS & TOOLS-5.System-1.Device Info-2.SW Version. The newest version with VCAST MUSIC is V.a950.YK24. Or if you purchased your phone before January 16 of this year and haven't had a software update then you definately have the original software with the MP3 player. Phones purchased after January 16th or that have had a software update since then have the VCAST music player on them and you can only use .WMA's.
1.) Unfortunately there is no fix for this. The only thing that you could possibly do to make it better is by purposely mispelling the name in your contacts to have it announced correctly. Spell it exactly the way it would sound. Like maybe for Suzanne, put...
