Battery as Back Cover?

I'm looking at a phone on ebay but the guy says it needs a battery and that acts as the back cover. Is this correct? If I buy an aftermarket battery, will it match the phone back> I guess I am confused. Thanks-April

Yes, the battery takes up about 3/4 of the back of the phone, and yes, if you buy an aftermarket one it wont match. however there are many oem batteries available on ebay and other online stores, which will match perfectly.
