now i just have to wait till they get it the rep told me it was going to be about 2-3 weeks or so then a few select stores will have it

I work at Radio Shack. We should be getting them around the 20th, as that is their official release date for us. Only 800 stores in the country are getting them though. So it may only be a few stores in your area that actually have one. But if you go in and they don't have one. Have them ship it to their store. That way they get credit.
I'm very much looking forward to getting this phone. Since we are ditching Verizon in January, I can actually break my contract with them and not get a fee. So I'm going back to Sprint and I'm probably going to get this phone.
The only thing I'm worried about is I hear the web browser sucks and the shutter speed on the camera is very show. The shutter speed can be fixed in future firmware upgrades. Not ...

yeah thats what i am going to be doing with it i had the 970 from vzw tilli herd the 940 is coming to sprint so i am going to be going back to sprint as well. from what i hear the 940 is going to have a few features the 970 dont have plus it isnt going to have a but load of things blocked..

I'm not sure where you're located, but I work at a Radioshack in South Texas, and one of our stores recieved two 940's in their shipment today. I promptly bought one of them and love it so far. I find it kind of surprising that we got it seeing as our local Sprint stores don't have any in stock and have told me that they don't forsee getting any anytime soon. Also, EV-DO hasn't even fully launched in the market down here so I doubt there will be any more of these coming in anytime soon.

although that dont surprize me much our sprint store less than a block away only has 4 phones to choose from we have at least ten.. i am located in mid east side wisconsin. your lucky if you have already got 2 of them we have no release date on when we get ours..
