Hopefully that's right although the e-mail I got Wednesday simply said "december"... But the 900 is what everyone is hyped about! The 920 is more like a masculine version of the 880.

Too bad it won't be in the stores until probably 3 weeks after that. You will have to keep checking sprint.com

I am currently on Verizon yet we moved to Wilmington, NC a year ago and after being told by Version that they will have Verizon service down here, I will be switching to either Sprint or Cingular.

So-No 1 priority is the new carrier-either Sprint or Cingular. I travel a lot and would have a nationwide plan.

No2. Therefore-this means the phones supported by those two systems.

No3. First feature-Bluetooth, then ease of use, battery life, voice dial, key board that stay lit for at least 30 seconds, good Contact library.

Lesser value-camera or data aircard. Typically get VPN access from hotel. Not enough time at airports to deal with Internet access.

No value-multi-media capability.

The issue is that these telephone companies a...

First of all: "key board that stay lit for at least 30 seconds"

This I don't understand... All phones can be set to have the backlight on either in 5-10 secs, 30 secs or "flip open" (when applicable). Pretty simple here, if you want it to stay on for 30 seconds, then battery life will suffer incredibly. I recommend a max of 15 secs since that should be the most you ever need.

Sounds like you want your cake and eat it too as far as battery life. Go with GSM since battery life is important to you. You would have to invest in an extended battery if you went CDMA as CDMA holds on to 2 towers and has far fewer dropped calls but also mych poorer battery life.

If for you are still interested in CDMA, all of Sprints new plans include roamin...

the main drawback of the blade is no SD card, you're limited to the internal 30MB memory which will be a pain if you want to use it for mp3

Actually, the a900 (Blade) does have 128Mb of internal memory, it's just divided into specific section for downloads, music, phonebook, all that junk. The 30Mb number that keeps popping up is the mamory available for downloads only. True it doesn't have expandable memory, but hey, i don't thinks it's possible to cram anymore features into a phone that thin!

I really love the 940 so far. I haven't tried the tv or mp3 features yet.

I don't like the battery life though. It leaves much to be desired and I think the battery life will be worse with the blade from the info from Samsumg's website. I guess you can't have it all.

What don't you like about the battery life? From what I've read you theoretically only have to charge it about twice a month. Those poor nextel users have to charge their phones everyday just about. (I obviously don't know which is why I ask. I don't have the phone and kinda want it.)

Not is not correct. Unless I'm doing something gravely wrong. I have to charge the phone every night and if I use it heavly during the day, (which is most of the time) I have to charge it in the car. The bluetooth pulls a lot of battery life, but I love my bluetooth headset, so I would rather charge than give that up. I may purchase an extended battery. You will probably love the phone, the best feature is voicedial to me. I can call anyone in my phonebook by name or speak the number and the phone dials! Soooo cool!

It could theoretically last a month? I don't think so... I suppose if you never touch it and just leave it laying around it would... but, I have the Sanyo 5600 right now and I have to charge it every one or two days. I use it constantly, though... texting, calling, surfing the web. If the Blade has a three hour battery life, that nixes it right there. You'd have to be attached to the charger the whole time, lol...

Anyway, the Blade is looking prety sexy to me right now, despite the battery life issue. I might just have to get it...
