I'm trying to figure out which music phone I should choose for my upgrade...
The obvious differences are a iTunes/Sonicstage music manger...form style...and about $50.

I to was at the hard option of picking one or the other, so I searched the internet for hours and i realized that if you want slightly better pictures pick the Sony Ericsson w600i. But if you are in te need for about 50 more songs get the slvr
...
About how many songs can you store on the w600i?
...
70-110 depending
the slvr only 100

I think I actually favor the SLVR on the song capacity. Consider it has removeable media (up to 1GB, currently) And you can easily lift the 100 song limit with a simple software tweak.
I'm apprehensive that the W600i has internal memory. If I fill up on songs, I sacrifice pictures, right?
...
yea. thats the only downer. the memor is shared.

I have both phones! I must honestly say that the W600i has much better menus, has a better calendar, EDGE, plus Opera Mini, It has better themes, plusan equlaizer. I thoght the Slvr L7 was a great phone until i got the W600i. Plus the menus and interface are much faster than the Slvr L7. Cnet even has the w600i rated as one of their editors top phones. That is my opinion! Furtrhermore you get stereo speakers. 🙂 🙂 🙂
...
the slvr has stereo speakers too i believe. but the w600i does it a tad better and louder. im just upset that its doesnt carry low notes like the rokr e1 did.
...
The SLVR L7 only has one speaker, you need to buy external speakers to get stereo. Let's face it, the Rokr E1 was ugly but it was a pretty good phone. I still have my Rokr E1 too (I use it as an Mp3 player). The choice is simple the w600i is much better. Plus you can edit pictures/videos and view them horizontal. 🙂 🙂 I also have 8 full length music videos on the phone, which look very good. I just converted the videos into 3gp format. If you want to know more please let me know. 😁
...
how do you convert movies so they fit on your phone.....i tried with both my w600, and s710a and was only sucessful half the time. or the video was choppy. i.e. mouth moving, no words coming out, then seconds later words come out mouth no longer moving. i used imtoo and a few others but i'd like your additional info.
thanks. 😁

Also the SLVR L7 may have more memory and itunes but let's be honest once you put a 100 songs on the slvr l7 all you have is about 30 to 40mb left. Then if you try to use the itunes songs as ringtones or anything else you are basically out of luck. All you have is songs. The w600i lets you use any song as a ringtone, message alert, attach to phonebook entry, etc.. Plus with 45 songs you still have about 40-50mb left to do fun stuff. The slvr l7 also has the worst speakerphone and handset volume. What it boils down too is that the slvr l7 has more memory but you can't do sh@# with it because it is a motorola phone still using the same interface as a V551 or V557 with itunes included and a pretty face. I rather have a phone/date who can ...

One more thing! The bluetooth works really fast on the W600i. I have an apple computer and I use I sync. So I put use the slvr l7 with and unregistered sim card and my w600i with a registered sim card and used isync. The w600i was about 40-50% faster syncing with my Mac computer, plus I was able to sync to-do list with my w600i. Also the phonebook interface is way better than the jurrasic park motorola interface. Next pairing with my motorola h700 bluetooth headset was 50% faster with my w600i than the slvr l7. Furthermore I get better reception and clarity from my h700 at longer distances with my w600i than the slvr l7 (that is funny that motorola products don't even work well with there own products). Last but not least the w600i h...
