Sony Ericsson W600i / W550i

Checked my phone today and the display light isnt turning on although I can see the user interface on the screen. I dont know if some button got accidently pressed for the light to turn off or if its broken. Is there a way of turning the display light on and off?

Hi, i am very interestted in buying this phone. i am a big ringtone guy, i constantly have new ringtones. Are the mp3 ring tones loud as the razor? or even close?

I just got this phone and to me a new battery should last a couple of days without having to re charge. To me it seems that I have to charge it too frequently. When I first got the phone cingular sent me a paper saying to charge the battery for 8 hours before using it for the first time. I only charged it until the battery said it was full. Does anyone know what is the correct way to charge a li-polymer battery. Can I get a new battery without have to get a refurbished phone. Any help is appreciated

Planning to get the W600i by the weekend. Everything about it seems great, also tried it out at Cing store earlier in week. But now see that the Cing site indicates it doesn't have vibrate mode. Is that true? Maybe it does the silent thing a different way, like shoot something into your veins?

I've loved my W600i EXCEPT for one aspect; after turning the thing off, it won't turn back on.
At all!

All I get is this white screen of death..the little red light under the power button dosen't even light, and niether does the keypad. It's 100% charged; I know that for certain. I'd left it charged yesterday, came back, unplugged, checked messages on it it and turned it off. I went to bed thinking it was fine..and now, white screen o' death.

I've owned this w600i now twice; the first unit I had did this exact same thing only 3 days after owning one, and Cingular replaced it. That was back this past December.

So how can I bring this lil' guy back to life?

I've owned my w600i since cingular launched it back in oct. and I haven't been able to move my music over to the phone. Anyone else having problems?

Apple just updated iSync, with the update of the system to 10.4.6. And it includes out of the box syncing with the W600i and W550. Finally! No more 3rd party plugin.

I downloaded some music files in aac format from another phone. The mp3 files worked fine. However the aac files were put in the other folder under my stuff. There is no way i can figure out how to play these or put in walkman. The phone is supposed to support aac format. Any suggestions?

so i kno these phones are basically the same but overall which is better?

w600i or w800i?

Hi,
My W600i keypad isn't working completely. The number 5 and 0 doesn't work when I press it. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know how I can fix it?

I had a lg phone before and when using aim I would only get charge for text messages. Now using the w600i It logs in to aim using the internet. Is there any way to change this?

Is there a way to get rid of the Cingular tone and the Sony Ericson Music Medley from being on my mp3 list? I tried to erase them and they are protected. They therefore wind up in my mp3 mix and it is quite annoying when on shuffle to hear the Cingular tone in between songs. thanks

im thinking of getting this phone.
i hope it works very well since it has to last 2 years. i have a couple of questions.

1. can you set your downloaded music as a ringtone?

2.can you record something & set it as a wring tone?

3. can you put a personal message like your name on the screen like most nokia phones can?

4. does this phone hold a lot of photos even with your music on there.

5. can you add memory to this phone?

I have read several reviews on this site concerning the Sony Ericsson W600i Bluetooth connection with a Mac and how it does not work, these reviews were dated in 2005.

I was wondering if Apple, Sony or someone has resolved this issue. I would appreciate any information on this matter.
