Cingular Version
I work for Cingular. I found a picture on our internal website of the x497. Looks kinda similar to the one on here, however there is a little stubby antenna. Also it is all silver, no black on it at all.

WHERE???? I've had several customers asking for it and I can't find a picture of it either. I work for a Cingular agent.

Do you have access to CSP? If so, it is under the Product Advisories/Launch Annoucments section.
...
i looked under CSP. All I see is Product launch for the p777 and the c207
...
We are supposed to have it in at our store in Louisville, KY by the end of the month.
...
if you go to cingular.com it is now on thier site along with the lg c2000. it looks nice, way better than the p207 i wish it had a camara. then it would be perfect i like that it has speaker phone
...
I don't think that's right. đ The X497 definitely does not have a stub antenna.

Rich...
I looked in Cingular's Sales Portal site, and just like the poster stated, the picture under product launch has a radically different look then the T Mobile X-495. It does indeed have a stub external antenna and a black lens around the external caller ID.
I actually found it to be very unattractive. So I'm hoping you're right on this one Rich. Do you possibly have any images yourself of the X-497? I really hope you are right on this one.

Hmm - I may have been wrong...
The original FCC approval for the X497 clearly showed a phone with an internal antenna. But now that's been replaced by a new approval, and this time it has a stub antenna. âšī¸
I'll dig deeper and see if there might be other differences in this new version.
...
can I expect any difference in performance between x495 with internal antenna and x497 with stub (or s307 with stub).
I will be using the cingular network, and am in the process of buying a phone via ebay
...
