Sony Ericsson Z520 / Z525

How well does the SE software synch to MS Outlook? I am looking for a new phone and one of the major requirements for me is to get one that I can synch my calendar and contacts to Outlook. How does this compare to the Nokia and Moto software?

i noticed the PTT button on the z525a sticks out and easily pushed

is the z520a the same way.. and is it a cingular phone?

Is there any reason why you can't download ringtones/pix to a Mac then transfer the files via Bluetooth to the z520a?

Any suggestions on how to do so?

For the record, I'm using a D-Link DBT-120 dongle for connectivity (love transferring between my Mac's address book & my phone!)...

I have had this phone for abour 3 weeks. I am with Cingular. A few days after I got the phone I woke up in the morning and opened the phone and the screen was blank. I thought maybe it had some stupid power saver feature where if the phone is inactive for a few hours it automatically turns off. So I held the power button and nothing happened. I was terrified and I took out the battery, put it back in, and turned on the phone. It worked.

Several days later, it happened again. So far it has happened 5 times and I am scared. What is wrong with it? The battery seems fine. It lasts forever. What should I do? I don't want to have to contact Sony about this.

I have had my phone for about 6 mos. w/no problems all of a sudden it wouldn't charge good so I ordered another battery. I think its the phone cord. You have to move it around and get it in a certain position and keep it there in order for it to charge. If it moves the charging stops. Has anyone else had this problem?

Help.... I have already exchanged this phone once with Cingular. This "new" Z520a continues to have problems:

1) Phone just completely froze. Had to pop out batttery.

2) When earbud is plugged in, the phone sometimes calls the first person on in my phonebook (and I even changed the Magic word to something long and obscure).

3) Often, when I make a call or try to receive a call, the call connects, but yet I can't hear the other person. I just hear my own voice echoing (this is with the earbud).

4) About half the time, the hands free "Answer" command doesn't work.

Has anyone else had these kinds of problems? How did you fix it?

Sony Ericsson said they had never heard of any of these issues and suggested that I do the soft...

can i get mp3 songs on my phone? on the z520a?! not mp3 ringtones, but the actual song? if so how do i do it?

I was reading a user review on the Z520 and someone wrote that you could download more lighting effects for the phone? I can't find anything where you can download more...so if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. Thanks!! 😁

since the past day, anytime i send a long text message, the recipient receives the message with (...) and then the last few words of the text message. when i receive a long text message, i receive the (...) with the last few words ofthe text msg as well. These are just basic sms text messages. when i go to my inbox, the envelope icon is "split" in half, indicating that the text message has been broken or cut off somehow. This is very important, does anybody have any solutions or advice? it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Just bought a Prius with Bluetooth. Anyone have experience with this phone working with this car? Plan to use Suncom.

Does anyone have any input on being able to unlock Cingular Protection on Themes and Ringtones? These phones are coming with themes, ringtones, etc. that can be downloaded from Sony Ericsson, but they are file protected so that they cannot be deleted. Therefore, you do not have room to add the ones you would prefer to have. Personally, I do not appreciate having to keep the ones that I don't care for that are taking up memory space. PLEASE HELP!!!

Anyone know of a good scratch remover for the internal and external screens?

I dodnt look round the forums that much but I noticed a lot of sites say u cnt use phone closed but you can. I just figured out. When you are calling push left soft key when the word "Speaker" comes up. hold the volume button down whenb speaker is on and close the phone.

Maybe a bug but it worked for me if you cant get it to work I'm sorry but mess around with it

this is probably a dumb question. My frined told me that on thier Z500 they got ringtones for free. Is it the same for the Z520a?

Ok this may seem like a odd question, but here it goes....I got the Z520a a few days ago and I accidently deleted the demo tour video on it...I called Sony Ericsson and they told me the only way to get it back is by finding someone who has it on their phone and send it to mine....so any of you that may have it can you let me know and can u send it to me....
I kinda want it back on since it has it's own part in a menu.......thanks

When is the Z525a coming in Phonescoop???

It says it's an upcoming phone for Cingular on mobiledia.com...so if you have any additional info please tell me!!!

OK, I got my phone this week. Very cool features and lots of fun to play with... But I get so many calls that are dropped I'm ready to take it back. Signal strength seems to fluctuate wildly while sitting still. Do you think it's just a lemon and try a new one? Or ditch it altogether and go Nokia or Motorola.
I live in a metro area and have Cingular which hasn't given me any headachs before.

Anyone else had this problem? (emailed Sony few days ago, and so far no response)

What software is there for the 520 that is equivalent to Motorola's MPT?
