Has anyone directly compared the reception of the RAZR vs. v710 or e815? I'm considering updating my v710 which has great reception, so I want to know if the RAZR compares well.

The razr blows the v710 away. I have used the v710 e815 nokia 6256i all good. The razr is CRAZY MAD BEANS better. Ha for real I'm still shocked about the clarity I'm experiencing. The best way I can describe the difference would be the v710 was loud and easy to hear others with decent clarity. The RAZR is loud but extremely clear and crisp. You have to hear it for yourself.

How about signal strength in weaker areas? Does it have the similar reception strength even without the external antenna?

Oddly enuf, it does. Our store has terrible signal, (In a mall, tin roof) The only phones that I can program on my desk have been the v710, E815, Blackberry 7130, and now the V3. So I guess thats a good sign.

I love not having an external antenna and my signal meter is the same as my e815 v710. You will not miss pulling an antenna up. I have large hands and I’m covering the thing during conversation and not running into any problems. Just fantastic call clarity that I never had on other phones. This thing should not be called Motorola.

I agree, the reception and clarity is great on the new v3. We put it on display today in our store, I still can't believe that they e-mailed the NYMetro area and said to start selling today. But at least I finally go to use it. We go only 50 in stock, so it stinks for all the people who were told come back on the 12th since after the weekend we'll have none stock. But back on point, the reception and overall clarity is great. I'm shocked the speaker is so loud and clear. Plus, being able to use the speak with the phone closed is a great feat. I also like the fact that they used the new motorola port like in the blackerry 7130. The old port is what made me jump ship from the moto's to begin with. Overall, I think the phone is one of the best ...
