here is the real deal on the v3c
let me set some thing strait , the obex profile is disabled on the v3c but NOT on some of the first shipment of phones , some of the phones came with that profile enabled . as far as the rest of the phone that feature can easly be re enabled using seem edits , and no that does not void your warranty , there is no way for verizon to know . as far as defects on the phone customers are returning the phone because some of phones do not have speed dial , i dont know how well the phone is going to preform but let me tell you all this , on dec 1st 6 days before the internet sale, there were 3,000 fru's (factory refurbished unit) in stock at the warehouse , which means that thre were problems even befor launch .

yeah but also, i have a feeling that verizon was very pushed and pressured to get this phone out a lil while before the holidays, so wut i think they did was just trhwo everything out on the shelves that they can and then in january theyll throw out a system upgrade. THats my personaly opinion. I think everything will be okay in the end.
...
the software upgrade that is comming in january is just so that phone can download music from the new service that is comming out
...
weell i am sure that if there was obex on the first few, this upgrade will probably erase that, and im sur eitll fdix some kinks and problems with it.
...
are we going to have to take our phones to the store for the upgrade, or is it done on something like *228
...
With a software update, you have to take it into the store. *228 only programs a new activation under 1 option and updates roaming on the other option.

So, if the things you refer to will not void the warranty would you please share with the rest of us? I'd really like full access to the phones features.

Using seem edit...
Is there a step by step instruction and how to do this and what software/hardware is needed. I have the first verision purchased in early Dec., 12 to be exacted. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
