ringtones via mms
A rep and I were playing around w/ our unactivated razr today. a friend came up and I txted him a ringtone that I had on my phone. He had the 8100 that he had just purchased. The sound file came thru fine but we couldn't set it as the ringtone. After some digging we found it was saving to the "My Sounds" portion on the vzw software. The guy I was working with is an ex-tech and emailed one of hte high level techs in support. Turns out that sound files are now kept seperate from the ringtone storage on the phone, in the vzw software.
My question, does it work on the razr? I only want to hear from people that have done it (ahem, vzwservicetech ;) I could wait till tom when our razr gets activated in the massive batch of store demo a...

you can save any sound as a ringer , even if it is sent as a meaasge no matter the format
...
all sound are stored in the same folder , you can even use voice notes as ringtones
...
boy do i hope your rite..cause im trusting 😛 ...that would make my razr experience the best in the world. The only reason y im doubting this is because ih ave the 8000 and it does that and that wud be the one thing i hate to give up, but wen u think about it, they took that feature off the 8100..so i hope ur rite

I sent all the ringtones from my LG vx7000 to my Razr that way. And a few via email. They work just super.

i dont want to sound stupid, but how did you mms them to your razr if one of them were not in service?

we were sending to the 8100 and the music clips sent via mms could be set as ringtones, check it out if you want, we went all the way up the tech chain trying to find out what we were doing wrong.
but it's good to hear the razr can do it, I'm getting one tom then.

I have the Razr v3c for verizon. I was wondering how I can send an MP3 or a ringtone from my E-mail address to my cell phone. If that doesn't work, how do i send an MP3/ringtone to my phone?
