Hey guys,

I'm a new RAZR V3C owner and am looking for an answer to this question. Can I use my phone as a modem to connect to Verizon's 3G network and surf? If yes, do I just need the USB cable to do that?

Thanks.

Yes. All you need is the USB cable or Bluetooth enbled laptop. You will need to tweak the phone a little, but it deffinetly works......... I'm using it now. 😁 😁 😁

So what tweaks exactly do you need for the phone if you have the cable and BT enabled laptop?

Guys, I'm a new owner and you're already confusing the heck out of me. Please set this straight. Does the phone support dial-up networking from my laptop?

I got MPT v3.28 installed and have successfully linked up my connection via Bluetooth. I've synchronized my contacts as well so I know the connection works.

The store-centered Verizon guy told me that I have the web plan ($5/month). With that plan, it deducts from your airtime unless it's nights and weekends, then it's unlimited. Okay, so, with that in mind, what are the next steps on using my phone on the EV-DO network? A list of steps in order would be awesome! Wish there was an FAQ thread here...

ok first if you are paying 5.00 a month what the guy said is correct about minutes but remember VCAST is 15 and unlimted web
now for the V3C I believe you have to dial ##dialup on your phone to enable DUN(this may not need to be done if DUN is display when bonded to the pc) now after you bond with your PC DUN should be one of the profiles at this point create a modem connection when it asks which modem choose modem over bluetooth
the number to dial is #777 and your user name is (yournumber)@vzw3g.com and the password is vzw also if you go into the modem properties you can increase the speed and you will be able to get the evdo speeds.. PS be careful because VZW is monitoring the EVDO access they are really cracking down on teathering ...

Does Verizon just charge regular airtime minutes or do they have a fee for using DUN?

They slam you with data charges, unless you disable the 3G on your phone.

is the username still "yournumber"@vzw3g.com and the password "vzw"?

And is the dial number still #777?

Thanks
