Why does the ui suck?

ok so many people are bashing the verizon ui. why? what is so sucky about it. i think it organizes the phones features nicely. its super easy to shortcut to stuff just using the numbers in the menu. so nobody get all mad at me, im just wondering. the older brand specific menus seem kinda cheesy. this new ui feels more grown up 😁

It isn't pretty, but it is intuitive. My only grip is that you can't modify the skins. I hate the color red....but that is a minor grip.

I think the biggest upset for most is that they took away a couple options (i.e., Vibe and Ring, Bluetooth push) with the VZ UI, but they should put those back with the software updates.

Vibrate and Ring do not work on the VZ version on the V3c. You can make it either vibrate or ring.

That being said...can you give me a more detail explaination of how you did it? Under the Sound Setting in my phone, there is no way of making the phone ring and vibrate.

I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it 🙂

Try turning vibe on through the menu, then call your phone and see what it does. On the 8100 (which has the same UI, with more options, though) if I choose vibrate by using the side buttons or holding the * key it will vibrate only, but if I go under menu/sounds and turn vibrate on that way, they phone will ring+vibrate. Try it.

I changed the mode to Master Volume when the phone is closed...

Went into the menu and manually changed it to Vibrate Only...

Called my phone and it only vibrated...

agreed, the fact that they take up screen space with the ugly red is one thing - but atleast let that color change with the "theme" or "skin color"... if not they should have made the key pad backlighting the same red color ... then atleast it will match. right now when you open this phone at night it looks like two different phones.

I think the biggest complaint about the UI is that most of the buyers are "moto" people, which I am also. We liked the moto UI in all our other phones - why change it. When you have been using a UI for years, though they add new features, you still can use it right away, this one you dont know where stuff is and most of all it is UGLY. no style points for the UI

Well, I finally understand what is going on. I began with a Startac, loved the menu. Moved to a 720; menu was fine (Moto), but phone dropped calls. Now have a LG 4500. Menu got some getting used to and I prefer the Moto, but at least my LG does not drop calls (often). Disappointed to hear the v3 is not a Moto UI. I was thinking I would get to go back to it once the price came down. But, if everything else on the Rasz works, the LG UI can be dealt with, even if it is not nearly so nice as a true Moto.
