Motorola RAZR V3c
Any one else dissappointed?
I have had this phone since day one and had to return it finally because I couldn't deal with it any more. I thought it would be high quality considering the price, but it feels and looks so cheap, key pad is loose, buttons don't register, terrible echoing and buzzing, bluetooth sounds horrible. I even exchanged for a new one assuming something was wrong with the one I got, but no-same problems. What's going on? I thought this was supposed to be so wonderful?

My RAZR has worked great for the past 2 months. No issues, but I do wish that the battery life was better. I'll hold on to this one until MOTO comes out with the RAZR Slider. 😁

keypads being loose are a big problem...even on my 3rd phone which i thought was solid is showing signs of it coming loose after 1 week. i checked all the demo phones and they all had this. i too had the distortion in the mic, but with my 3rd one it is clear. after all of the commotion it took to get a decent razr, besides the battery life, i am more than content.

first off top of key pad is lose, look closer and use you're fingers and you will see. Blue tooth kills battery in less then half a day. Slow UI. While in GET IT NOW phone will lose all signal then reset (all Four did the same). If yours works

I currenlty drive a 2001 honda Accord EX V6. My transmission went on it and after the dealer tried to rip me off and charge me $5000 for a new transmission, I discovered Honda has "extended the warranty" on 2001/2002 Honda Accords for faulty transmissions. They didnt do a recall cause they wanted to wait till the customers transmission went on them before they replaced it. So here I am stranded because of the American built Honda junk. Honda used to make decent cars when they were from Japan. But now forget it.

I am a long time reader, new poster, but wanted to mention that I finally gave up on the RAZR after having 5 of them since it came out. I too have had loose key pad, horrible echo, not to mention lots of other problems/concerns that have been mentioned on here.

I have to agree w/ ferndogs comments 100%. Also, the echo while using a bluetooth headset is due to the volume set to high. Turn down the volume on the phone or headset and the problem will go away. The echo has nothing to do w/ the razr or any other phone! Can't we all just get along?

I must say this has been the most enjoyable read thus far to date, and has made my terrible morning at verizon seem worth while! 1 out of like 20 Razrs are actually worth it. I have an unlocked black GSM one and I have no buzzing no nothing. When I make a call no buzz no matter what. Echo whats up with that? Sorry guys, loose keypad, yeah the ones in the back in their boxes still, they suck. Most of them are loose already.

And the 8100, I have seen those come back in like crazy. They have all that stuff but they're junk. People put the Razr down b/c of no memory card. They want a &%#$ing razr thin phone...hello its not possible if you want every feature offered. These people on here obviously have nothing better to do with there time. The Razr is an aesome phone. I had the Black one from Cingular and now this one for verizon. Very Solid and built well. I dont know what you people do with your phones to make them break so fast but i tend to take care of my phone while I own it.
Besides tell me which phones on the market are built that tough? all these phones are built by mass production using inexpensive material. come on people. its a cell phone, not a piece of steel. use it properly and it will be a good lasting phone.

Exactly there is more important things. If you don't own the phone any longer and had it for less then 15 days you can't be too framiliar with it. I can handle negetive feedback...when it has meaning. People in here put it down b/c it doesn't have every feature known to man. How could it??? Its a razr. Aren't we tired of this yet? I still don't understand why people who do not like the phone will just put the reason down and then move on to the forum of the phone that they replaced the razr with. The forum should mostly be from people who like the phone, want to learn about it, and ways to get around some of its shortcomings. Other than Legs and Mary, I think everyone that didn't like the razr has moved on. Maybe if everyone just ignores them, they'll go away. I like my RAZR. Call quality equal to or better than my old 710 and the slim design makes it easy to carry. I use the phone as a phone, could care less about custom ringtones, camera etc., I disabled EVDO and the battery life got even better.
For me it is a keeper so far, I guess that time will tell how it holds up.

Well then, this guy has put every one who ever posts in a forum in their place, heaven forbid people complain about what they don't like on something they spent $300.00 on. I work for Verizon, I used the Razor.. it had it's ups, it had it's downs... ultimately I went back to my VX-9800, obviously size isn't the most important factor in my phone. I am SURE its you that's the real piece of work. I can think of many reasons to give a phone a bad review - other than just getting a bad phone. For example:
Sluggish Menus
Features not working properly due to software
Inability to customize
etc...etc...etc....
These are all issues that can be across all phones made in a particular model that have nothing to do with getting a bad phone. Especially the sluggish menus problem.

If you have an attitude problem, arrange for it to be slapped out of you. This is a discussion forum for the RAZR V3c. That means people can say good things AS WELL AS bad things about the phone. You have to grow up and deal with that.

I am an employee at Verizon and whenever I hear that someone is interested in a Razr I immediately think to myself "here we go again". Almost every Razr that we have sold has been returned, exchanged multiple times, one person even threw it out his car window on the interstate to come back and buy an LG8100 for full price. This phone has caused nothing but problems on the retail side of Verizon, this is even more of a nightmare than the LG3100 was! I still cringe every time I see one of those in the store.
Personally I hate the phone, the bluetooth on the Razr is no better than the 8100, I use the Scala 500 BT headset. The menu takes forever to load up, and get it now is horribly slow. I believe, however, that with time and MANY software u...

I just got the Scala 500 BT headset. I am using it with the razr which I love (if the software updates make it even better, well that is great, but I like the phone as is). The Scala works great with the razr, great sound, voice commands, all work great, but there is one thing I am not satisfied with. Do you wear glasses? I do and find the eye glass attachment does not stay on very well (one of the reasons I bought it). Do you, or do you know anyone else using it with the eyeglass attachment? How is it working for them.

Well, personally I have never used the eye glass attachment. I found the headset comfortable enough to use while wearing my sunglasses. But at the same time I dont wear glasses for extended periods of time.

There is a Plantronics Discovery 640 headset that goes directly into the ear with a gel earbud and no earhook that has gotten great reviews and seems like a great headset for people who wear glasses.

I have the old GSM V3 and I know that mine is great construction, even better than my old V60. It's solid and no loose parts. Makes me wonder what happened when they created the CDMA RAZR. The only thing I really don't like about the RAZR is that it is real thick and you have to position the receiver end just right to hear from it. But since I use BT 90% of the time, I love it. Sounds like Moto oopsed on putting the V3c together.

They did not oopsed putting it together. This phone is great. I think that quite a few people thought you could dock it like an ipod and it would drive your car for you. I don't know, I came to this site to get good info on the razr and as of late it has turned into a let's bash the razr site. This is a great phone for Verizon and I have had mine for 3 weeks and not had any problems with the actual phone.

I don't think it was Moto that oopsed, I don't own a Razr yet, so I may be out of line, but from reading this forum for the last few weeks, I have noticed that the people with Verizon, are the ones having all the problems, and the ones with Alltel and US Cellular think it is a great phone, it sounds to me like Verizon really screwed up the phone and should have just left it alone. 🤭

It would still be Moto because even running what ever Verizon software is required, the poor make of the phone is still on the Manufacturer. But I can see where you would think Verizon was the issue. 🙂

This phone has some very good items with it however it has some cons also. We have to look a the balance.
I for one dont like the voice taging for the phone I had and LG where I put the tags on the names and this will cause a problem for this phone with users with lots of name in the contact directory. The lack of a way to remove speed dial name is a problem but from cutes stand point the phone feels good. Sound good and what can you expect for $200 dollars.. I mean verizion went to the point of removing all of the great bluetooth stuff so they could charge you. The phone is still good.
This phone has some very good items with it however it has some cons also. We have to look a the balance.
I for one dont like the voice taging for the phone I had and LG where I put the tags on the names and this will cause a problem for this phone with users with lots of name in the contact directory. The lack of a way to remove speed dial name is a problem but from cutes stand point the phone feels good. Sound good and what can you expect for $200 dollars.. Mine is wonderful. Sounds like you got 2 bad ones. Thats possible. I got 4 bad 9800's. This is an awesome phone.

I got mine 2 months ago when it first came out; with no problems. The issues that are being reported could be due to them ramping up to 10 mil units so quickly. The RAZR is the best selling phone in the U.S and #2 in Asia.

i've had mine for about 4 weeks. no serious complaints. the thing works when i need it and it looks killer. sure there are some minor issues but i mean they aren't like the cell doesn't work, etc... problems with software. Its the best cell i've owned so far. i say this everytime i get a new cell 🤣 but its true. I've been a Motorola fan since 1996. I had that huge block cell flip up thingy. my have times changed!!!

The Company bought mine first day, HATE the vzw ui, so navigating the phone is a problem. Otherwise it's a Motorola: great sound, great reception. Disappointed that we (VZW) get the old version when Moto is getting ready to release the v3i in a few months. I do miss the memory card from the 710/815.

No I'm not! Any issues I had were either misconceptions on my part, fixed over the phone, or nicely swapped for a new one. I've read a lot of these comments and what I'm most surprised NOT to see here is mention of what I find to be the best feature... "In ear feedback", NOT ECHO as I think so many have possibly referred to it. (and not the SpeakerPhone Echo issue either) No longer am I talking into a BANANA with no sense of my own voice or volume (like a land-line) This thing is more enjoyable than my home phone or desk phone to carry on conversation. I think hotlonglegs was just being difficult and very much against the razor from the get go. Here are the facts since it's been out. More people in Howard Forums are starting to buy them. Phonescoop has an average rating of over 3.60. Cnet rates it very high, PC Magazine gives it the Editors Choice along side the 815.
