Pioneer DEH-P980BT Bluetooth Car kit problems...
Hello, I just purchased the Pioneer DEH-P980BT car stereo with built in bluetooth kit and I'm having several problems:
1. It doesn't connect automatically when I get in the car (even though it is set to connect automatically).
2. The phone book won't transfer over. Every time I click "phone book transfer" the phone disconnects from the bluetooth connection.
3. I can't use the "voice dial" feature.
Does anybody have any advice? It is the same thing as the DEH-P9800BT so if you have that and it works let me know.
I have software version 04 of the V3C and it is set up with a hands free bluetooth profile.

No, unfortunately I never received a response. Verizon said it is Pioneers' faulat and Pioneer said it is Verizon's fault. Please let me know if you ever figure it out.

I have this unit and a t-mobile MDA. Exact same problem. Something tells me this is not the phone or the carriers problem.
I can manually force a connection but the auto connect feature and addressbook download do not seem to work.
On top of that the manual is pretty bad. It's not quite Engrish but...almost.

I have just purchased a new Pioneer Premier DEH-P980BT bluetooth head unit.
I can pair my Motorola V3 and make and recieve calls but can't transfer my phone book.
I have followed the instructions to the letter and each time I try the phone disconnects itself.
Any ideas?

That happened to me when I first tried to make a transfer. Then I realized it's normal. You have to choose a contact, browse the main menu for "send" (last item) and press "send". You have to do it for each contact. The connection is activated for each contact sent.
My problem now is to find a way to send all contacts at once.
Does anybody knows how to do it?
