When you are on gps, are you using your minutes or data usage or is it absolutely free!!

GPS usage is not tied to any GSM carrier so it is free (on this device since the GPS is standalone) the only thing that could cost is the files to assist the GPS, this would use time/mbytes on you gprs data plan if you have one.
