Rokr + Video
Has anyone succesfully put their own videos (from their digital cameras or computer files) of any kind of video on their Rokr. I am currently researching ways to make this possible. I use an ibook G4 and was wondering if someone knows of a program to convert video files: mpegs, mpeg4, wav., etc... into 3gp format. Our rokr uses 3gp and if someone knows of a converter or encoder, it would be tremendously helpful. If this becomes possible then can say hello to Rokr Video E1. 😳

Nokia Multimedia Converter (free)
3GP Converter (free)
QuickTime Pro (29.99)
imtoo which was already posted(29.99)
I have some Chappelle and Family Guy stuff on mine. Try to keep the files below 20MB or it will choke the phone to death. You'll have to pull the battery if you play a video to large in order to stop it. lol
i use the 3gp convert myself, and if i need to make it smaller i'll use Nokia or Quicktime.

Jus to update on this issue. I switched to a program called MediaCoder, which is Open Source. You got to love free.
Anyway I still rip the dvd, but convert to 3gp from the vob using MediaCoder. OUTSTANDING results. The thing w/ the ROKR is that the processor is very very weak. I'm guessing like 75-80mHz maybe. Anyway if you try to play video w/ large date rate (actually not large but anything over like 13kbps the phone lags or freezes all together.
Anyway I produced good quality video/audio and can crunch 30min of somthing into like 20MB. Data Rate is around 10kbps and looks and sounds good.
Anyway if MediaCoder has a lot of setting and can be very touch if you don't select the right byte rates for the video you are using. I...
