Caller ID Question...A-920 owners PLEASE reply
I recently bought a Samsung A-920 and i love it. But, whenever i get a call, the caller ID shows "California" above the contact's name. It shows it whether or not the person calling is set in my contacts. I checked the settings and there was nothing that gave me an option to remove that. Have any of you guys experienced this as well? With the A-920, or any other phone? Is there ANY way I can get rid of it, because its VERY annoying.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

I've seen that as well but it doesn't bother me.
There is a caller ID setting under incoming calls but I haven't played with that yet.

I just returned my Samsung 920 because it just wouldn't hold a signal...but then again...it's from Sprint so I wasn't expecting too much.
At any rate, yes, you can change the caller ID so it matches your contact but it will also display the state as well.
Wow.....and I thought I was the one that got bent out of shape over the little things....lol.

My device wont hold a signal either... may return it but it doesnt drop either and everyone says it sounds great... not sure what is going on with this phone.

Im pretty sure that I have checked that and it wasnt it. Someone told me that I have to turn off "Area Code Matching" or something like that in one of the menus, but I cant find it anywhere.

No matter how much I think about it, I cannot see how that is an annoyance.
I have this phone, but I have not seen an option other than the "phone book match" one.

We just got our a920s last Friday and also noticed all local contacts say "Florida" above them, which is where we live. Guess they display based on the incoming area code and Samsung thinks it's helpful to know this info? Dunno... doesn't really bug me but feel it's unnecessary. Would rather have a larger incoming name/number display in lieu of this superfluous info.
