Its MP4. I've been messing around with it. It has to be a resolution of 176x144 or else the video will not show up.
I'm getting some video studders though. I would like to know what the best video and audio bit rates would be, and max FPS. So I can get rid of the studdering.

Does anyone know of any programs that you can get for free (or a torrent)??? Every program that I found was shareware and can only convert 5 mins of the video.
Also, I love this phone. The 5 mins of video that I was able to convert looked awesome on my phone.

The Imtoo DVD to 3GP suite seems to work quite well. File type/profile is .3G2 This is not a free program, and only coverts 2 minutes of video in demo form.
I am currently still experimenting, but so far the best combination of settings is 176x144 resolution, h263 video codec, bit rate 80, frame rate 11.
Audio settings: codec mpeg4, bit rate 32.
I have emailed them to ask if they have an ideal setup for the A920. Will respond when I learn more.
