activesyn 4.0 issues - help1!!
Hi all -
i am having big issues with activesync 4.1. i have visited MS site for help but no help there. my laptop does not connect to the phone on a consistent basis.
any suggestions???

I'm having an activesync problem with my work computer. Apparently, BlackIce firewall needs to be configured to allow certain ports to be free. Maybe you're having a similar problem. In any case, how I discovered the conflicting program was to use msconfig.exe to, one by one, 'turn off' the services and programs my computer was running (restarting each time, what a pain) until I found the culprit. In my case it was the firewall.

i too use BlackIce and have to turn it off to get the phone to sync. do you know the port that i need to open to black ice to allow sync w/o turning the service off?

answering my own question ... per microsoft support the following IP addresses & ports need to be open
92.168.55.100 to 192.168.55.102. ActiveSync also needs access to the following four Winsock (TCP) ports: 990, 999, 5678 and 5679.
