Cingular 2125 vs Orange SPV c600

After reading all the positive comments about the Cingular 2125, I am considering trading up my Moto MPx220 for it.

About the only bad thing I've read about the 2125 is the hump and the power button issue (hard to turn on/off) due to it's positioning. I noticed that Orange's version in the UK, the SPV C600, has the same specs as the 2125 -- but minus the offending hump.

Does anyone know if there really is any difference in performance between the hump and humpless version of this phone? I assume Cingular chose to include the hump for some reason, but if there is no noticeable difference in call quality or reception, I would rather pay the extra cost and get the Orange version. Is this a mistake?

I don't know anything about the Orange SPV c600, but I know that I want the Qtek 8310.

Everything that this phones has, minus edge - which is a bummer - but it does have wifi!

I've got the Qtek 8300 (slightly uglier than the 8310, but with dedicated media buttons), and it's got EDGE. I've had no problems with reception (other than T-Mobile's normal crappy coverage), but I also had no problems with reception on the SMT 5600.

The Wi-Fi kicks ass. I can see why Cingular would want to cripple their devices and not offer it; if you are in a densely populated area, you can almost always find an unsecured WiFi network to hop onto, which makes paying for a data plan pointless (except that you aren't guaranteed a connection/service, natch).

If you don't mind an unsupported phone (heaven knows where I'd send it if it had a defect or something), I would definitely go for the HTC Tornado over the "Faraday" or whatever...

i have had the 2125 for about a week. the hump houses a bigger antenna for 1900 mhz. i had the audiovox 5600 and returned it to wait for this phone. glad i did, the rf on this phone blows away any phone i have carried in the past, including the nokia 6200 and 6230.

Now that I have the phone, the hump/bulge is not that bad, you have to see the phone in person. It is much smaller than you think.
Reception is much improved over the 5600 and outside of a lack of qwerty and still not being able to hear your ringtone in your bluetooth headset, it is a very good phone.

YMMV
