How do you remove "nextel from display?

I heard about removing the sim card, but my phone doesn't operate, and just asks that i insert the sim card. Anybody know step by step?

Oh, Nextel phones don't have the banner feature, which allows you to customize text on the home page.

Hey, I found out how to do it... You have to go into Menu --> Profiles, and create a new profile. The name you choose for that profile will show up as a banner on your screen. Strange way of doing it, but it works!

Great Tip, although it just adds a line at the bottom of the screen and leaves the "Nextel" banner in place. I can live with that.
