phone sounds great and all but.. (Razr V3i vs. T809)
does it hold good reception? can u hear calls clearly? how about battery life?
i'm glad to hear t-mo's finally got a cool phone, but i hope they don't forget the "phone" part of it... 😕
i will be either renewing my t-mo contract and get this phone.... OR i may switch to Cingular to get the Razr V3i when that comes out. whichever comes out on top.

Samsungs generally have fantastic receptions (with the exception of the x475 which should never have been made and sold in the first place.) so I wouldn't worry about reception. Samsung batteries are also pretty solid, though this one looks like it's a little on the low end.

i had the samsung e315 for a year and did not get good reception on it. (maybe the newer samsungs do ?) that's why i'm under the impression that the t809 wouldn't.

actually, samsungs generally DON'T have fantastic reception. i have a friend who works in one of the wireless divisions for samsung, and he has told me that in general the RF for samsung isn't as good as other companies. him and his coworker were talking about how samsung should do something to improve their reception. kinda sucks when you have a top notch phone with subpar reception.

As a new owner, I can tell you for a fact that reception is pretty good. It holds 5 bars constantly in my appartment, within which my razr got 2-3 at best. The calls are clear and I've had no drops since I got it. Been testing it....
So, as far as reception goes, at least in Alexandria, VA....Northern VA and DC Metro areas, you'd have nothing to worry about. I can't tell you how great or bad it is elsewhere.
