What is so important about The Imei?

unlucked = can be used by any carrier. provided that carier uses the same frequence
ex. an unlocked gsm phone can work on all gsm netwoks
on a side not, i dont know why people think its such a big deal to by an "unlocked phone". if you call custumer service they will unlock a phone for you for free. it takes some time, but it is all its unlocked.

what customer service will unlock your phone for you? the carrier or the manufacturer?

1. Allows the phone to be used by any carrier that supports the same frequencies that the phone does.
2. From what I've read, in north america, it isn't important. On the other hand, some places like freemycell.com can flash without corrupting your imei, so you might as well save it if you can...just in case 😉
