is this phone actually going to be able to get reception on sprints network? because lg's SUCK thus far on it.

Truthfully I haven't noticed any difference on an LG compared to a Samsung. I have noticed that Sanyo's get slightly better reception, in some cases.
I don't like LG phones because of the UIs they use. They are a bit slow to react, and the overall style just doesn't appeal to me, but that is personal preference...we'll see how this phone does...

I'm really not sure what models you are referring to, but as a tech I can tell you the newer LG's have AMAZING reception on Sprint. It easily rivals Sanyo and with better earpiece quality. I still prefer Sanyo's overall but LG makes a great reception phone these days. Samsungs are by far the worst reception phones for Sprint. Their completely stripped A560 is the only that gets good reception...

The new Samsungs will intennas get equal or better RF than most Sanyos. The LG 125/225/325/535 all get only average RF.

It has been reported in many threads that Samsung is going downhill in RF as well as Voice Quality.
while I still think that Samsung is very good, even better than LG in those features, I don't think you are fooling anyone when you claim SS's with intennas are better than Sanyo's.
Sanyo's, Motorola and Nokia's on the CDMA side are the RF kings!

hehe... I love it... Let's just say I WORK DIRECTLY with Sprint phones every day (including RF testing) so no one can tell me I'm full of it...

Also, hate to tell you, the A800 is a $500 piece of crap. Out of the very few that get sold, it seems like a good majority come back with all kinds of crazy display and voice quality issues.
Glad it at least picks up a signal better than the LG's for you, it must have at least a decent antenna. You must have been lucky and avoided a lemon! 🙂

Contrary to what the OP says, I think that the old LG's reception was fine, and the new LG's reception are great!
My friend's family had 4 LG 5350's and they worked well in their house. Since then, they've upgraded to 1 PM-325, and 2 PM-225. The new phones' reception are perfect!
Also, these new phones have internal antennas (except the LG MM-535). In my mind, internal ones are on par or less better than their external counter-parts; they just can't be better than external ones. So if this LG has the new great reception PLUS an external antenna, it must have equal or better reception than those currently on the lineup.
*I kind of wish for 2 things with this phone.
1) It have better looks. It kind of looks too plain and ugly.

I don't agree that internal antennas "just can't be better than external ones". I get to take apart these phones as part of my job and the nice big wide spread of an internal antenna actually picks up the signals just as well, if not better, than a thin stick that comes up.
I also RF test and voice test these devices daily and the newer LG's are excellent with good earpiece clarity as well, so I totally agree with you on the rest.
Some people need to face it that LG has taken some of the CDMA market share from Samsung. Samsung's are good looking phones, with nice features and nice menu's but are lacking in reception and overall voice quality.

Yep, Samsung's may show just as many "bars" of reception than LG's but Sammy's cut out, pop, hiss, distort and all that much more than LG's. Sanyo's are super quality, awesome reception phones, their earpiece's are a little dull for me though...

I really need a phone with bluetooth as my Sanyos plug eventually goes bad and have a lot of static or stops working at all and I use the phone for business, probably 2000 minutes per month. Another thing I was wondering if anyone knows is if my laptop is enabled for bluetooth if I can use it to access vision and the internet on my laptop. I currently use Futuredial and can access the web when traveling with my Sanyo 8200. Not fast, but acceptable. Thanks
