Do You Need Help With Samsung MM-A900
This was mentioned earlier, but no real answer was found:
How do I get contact info on and/or off of the blade? I have 50-100 contacts which would take to ever to do manually on the phone. I did a pc connection w/ the usb cable but didnt see any folder with any contact info in it.

if your computer has blue tooth you can blue tooth your contacts 1 by 1 from the phone to the computer and vice versa.
if you have a pocket pc you can high light all your contacts and send them to the phone. from the computer you must do it one by one.

I tried this from a Pocket PC and it connects with my a900 but it says that the request could not be honored and to make sure the remote device is on, within range, and has Bluetooth and the 'Object Push' Profile (OPP) enabled. This is needed for exchanging Business Cards, Calendar Items, etc... What am I doing wrong?

you can only sync your contacts.
you must high light the contacts you want to send. then go to send by blue tooth, your blue tooth must be on,on both devices, it will find your phone, object push. thats how.

Awsome! Thanks for the help , armstead101! I'm probably going to pick up a bluetooth adapter (I work at Radioshack so this will be easy) and start trying out the bluetooth capabilities.
BTW- anyone try out a Moto bluetooth headset w/ the blade yet? Any comments on certain headsets?

don't go moto!!! motorola is a class 2 headset, you need a class 1, jarba, samsung, nokia. others will not work with the phone.

What's the difference in class 1 and class 2 bluetooth? Is one newer than the other, or is it different software making it work with different brands? Thanks.......I'm so stupid! LOLOLOLOL

I would like some help with a blue tooth headset. I have tried and returned the Plantronics 320, sony 608, and scala 500. Each one had a ton of interference and sounded extremely crackly. I took my a900 to the sprint store and the tech tried all kinds of things like phone updates, other a900's, other bluetooth headsets, and each combination gave the same result. Very bad connections. I bought the scala off of the techs recommendation. It did the same thing. Any suggestions on fixing this problem or a specific brand that may not do this.

to your #1 question :
menu, settings, other, call setup, call answer, select flip open.
to your #3 question: d/l and install samsung driver from samsung site, this will aloow your computer to recognize your phone as mass storage device.
connect your phone to computer and then: menu, tools, mass storage, connect to pc.
after that you can drag and drop your mp3's into your mass storage media folder

For #3, getting the mp3s to the phone is easy. I use foobar2000 w/ plugin that can copy an entire artist's folder right over whithin the program.

You need to use an uploader, like the one found at http://www.funformobile.com and other sites. There, they will walk you through how to create and upload an mp3 ringtone. It's like a text message, so it'll cost ten cents per ringtone, but it's easy to do. It's the only way I've found.

This method works very well however I do have one piece of advice. The Blade only plays ring tones for 30 seconds before going to voicemail so there is no need to put the whole songs in. Also, the site listed in the previous post requires the size of the file be less than 2 mb which is less than most full songs. For me the easiest way to make it work was just to use iTunes to cut the songs down and then convert them to AAC format. Still sounds great and uses far less space. Hope this helps everyone.

What do I do if the computer won't let me install the driver? It says that since it is not digitally signed by microsoft, I should cancel the installation. Any suggestions?

The "Digitally Signed" thing means that someone at Microsoft has actually tested the driver to see that it's fully compatible with Windows. This doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad for your computer, just that Microsoft does not guarantee it's stability with their operating system. Click continue and you should be fine with the driver install.

Yes you can yurn it off, when you're at a "typing" screen (i.e. email, sms, IM) you just press the right softkey (labeled options) and select Alpha. Then it's the old fashioned 6 key three times for 0 etc etc. Hope this helps.

I've heard this same complaint also. I'm not into texting a lot because of the fact you have to press the same key over and over to just get one letter. Anyway, I had to see what people were talking about so I tested the T9 text function and at first it worked just like people said. However, when I keyed in the word at more a quicker and even pace the T9 text feature worked just like it was supposed to. All my words were anticipated perfectly. It was like magic! 🙂

I've d/led Opera Mini and am very impressed at how superior it is to the built in WAP browser. But it is very annoying not to be able to link to it from the Launch Pad. Is there any way to make this work?

Caller ID names will only come up if the number in the contacts list matches the call received exactly. This means the numbers in ur address book must be 10 digits long (area code + 7 digit number). Do not add a one before the area code and all numbers must have the correct area code.

I also have a Palm TX and have paired it with my A900. The driver for the Palm TX dialer is only for GSM phones. Palm still doesn't have a phonelink updater for CDMA phones. I have been looking around for a third party driver for CDMA phones for the Palm TX but no luck.

I'm trying to figure out how to get small mp3 files from the standard FTP folder (or any folder) to set as ringtones. Is this possible, for one, and how can it be accomplished?

So far all we have been able to do is convert the .mp3 over to a QCP file which can then be uploaded as a ringer, but we are not happy at all with the very degraded quality sound of the ringer when it is converted to QCP. Anyone who can figure out how to do .mp3 ringers, please post any ideas.

Correction. This phone can use MP4 as a ringtone which is the same thing as AAC. Sounds waaay better than QCP. We use www.freeringers.net to upload the files we create into AAC, costs $7.99 for a lifetime membership and no "per use" charges. Hope this helps!

Bought this phone 3 weeks ago, no problems so far, until last night. It was around 10:40 PM and my phone is charging, when I notice the display shows the time is 7:45 PM. I rebooted and solved the issue thinking it was a one time thing. This morning, the damn display kept showing 7:05 AM when it was 8:00 AM. Because the phone was not charging, the display should have been on, but it stayed on, regardless--it was frozen. Even when making a call, after hanging up and closing, the elapsed time kept showing! Rebooting solves this, but I wonder if I should get a new phone. Is this a common ocurrence???

Its because you uploaded an image to the phone. Don't use the internet to upload an image, it can't handle it. You have to use the USB cable and then ONLY store the pictures in the folder that the phone stores pictures it takes with its own camera. Otherwise it will freeze like that and you can't even push button when in an automated system cause the frozen phone won't send the tones. Just a flaw they over looked. I went through 3 phones sending each one back before I figured it out. Also, don't update the phone to the newest firmware! Thats part of the problem too!
