laptop can't see a900

i hooked my new a900 up to my laptop via usb cable so i can load some songs on it. it won't see it. i installed a driver but still won't see it.

what next?

menu - settings - tools - mass storage - connect to pc. copy and paste mp3s into media folder. not the DB folder. onyl mp3s are compatible.
