The Cingy version has mobile email and media net preconfigured
I heard that on the no brand model, you have to configure the media net yourself but no option for the mobile email (so it alerts you on it's own when you have a new message) instead of having to sign on each time to see if there's new messages or not

I istalled Mobile E-mail by myself. I also configured the phone as a cingular phone.

How did you get Mobile Email on your unlocked V3i???? I have tried to go online through Media Net and it's not there, and I try to search for it, and it's just not there. How do I get it? I set the settings from the Cingular website and when I get online for Media Net on the phone, it doesn't show the weather "icon" if that makes sense and looks like an 'old' version of Media Net. Any suggestions???? Thanks in advance.
