Should a novice buy this phone?
Thanks to all of you through this forum for your input on Nokia E61. It seems to be the perfect phone for me, but here's the prob... Can a phone novice such as me purchase this phone on the web and complete all required set-ups? Who can I call if I run into problems? What is an "unlocked" phone? Cingular does not offer this phone yet, but I need to stay with them. A dealer has indicated I can just insert my SIM card and it will work. Is it that easy? A local dealer has received a phone for me, but has not delivered due to problems "completing the downloads". If they cannot, what makes me think I can? Thank you all for your feedback. dwr317

Sure, why not. If you put your SIM card in from your current GSM phone or buy one from a GSM carrier - it will immediately work like a phone. As afr as using all of the other goodies, why not read the forum and gradually assimilate one feature a week. I never ask anyone a question, and I hate to have people holding my hand as well as holding someone else's. I just read the forums and if there is something that doesnt work - I skip it and come back to it later. With the instruction book, patience and some research over a 2 - 3 monthperiod you wont be a novice. I find I know more than the phone company tech's do anyway after a while.
