importing this phone
Any idea on when this phone will be available
here? Cingular/Sprint or T-mobile? Any chance
of importing it from UK or europe and making
it work with cingular?
...
The UK version won't have GSM 850, so I wouldn't recommend using it with Cingular.

This phone seems to have died down. Rich, do you know what the chances are that Cingular will actually get this phone this year?

Well, I'm not Rich, but there is a GSM 850 version, so Nokia definitely went to the effort of gearing it to the U.S. I'd be surprised if this didn't come to the U.S., but if Cingular is going to carry it (I sure hope so!), there's no indication. . .

I would almost bet my next check that Cingular doesnt carry this or the N80, and that sucks.....
...
Well Cingular did carry the Nokia 6820 & I think maybe also the 6800, which are models this phone was based off of (although the 6822 was skipped). Cingular is the most likely choice for this phone's release, but still....being the most likely choice doesn't mean it's going to happen.

This phone is similiar to those you mentioned only in the form factor. Other than that, they are nowhere close. It would be like comparing a Pinto to a Benz..

Cingular carries nothing. I was hearing that they might take the Nokia E61 and the future models such as the E70 and the N80 and taking the wifi out of it and dumbing the phone up so that they can still say that there 8125 is the only cingular phone with wifi however most of the new Nokias havent past the fcc standards yet or have not therefor cingular the piece of **** company it is wont take it on.

You know very little. Cingular will take the n80 and the e70 is getting a long look. They are waitng on nokia to add UMTS on 850mhz. The e70 is currently beig strongly considered. More stongly than I will say on phonescoop.
