Verizon, AIM, and the Q
I know to get the email and web I need to get the 44.99 data plan. But I have been getting conflicting reports about the $$ of aim on the verizon network. Some people claim that for each text you get charged. Others say it is all part of the plan. Can anyone clarify exactly what/how i will be charged for aim? Does it depend on the program you use for the aim? Any help appreciated.

AIM charges depend on how you're going about using it. The Moto Q can't get on the aim express or whatever it's called online, so you probably will want to buy a standalone application from a 3rd party. Stay away from iMov Messenger- it's a horrible product for $19.95 and no free trial. IM+ was slightly better, has a free trial but is $29.95 - I had problems with it logging me in & out continuously until AOL timed me out for a while... very annoying. Right now I'm running a free trial of Agile Messenger, which still has quirks but gives a 7 day trial so you can see before you buy. Any of these options use KB, therefore you don't pay txt charges. Beware that it seems to keep an active data session running and kills your battery life.

The program I use from IMing is called Agile Mobile. It has AIM, ICQ, MSN, Y! and some others all built in. Pretty snazzy. And it just uses your data service so no txt charges. It's free, but I can't remember where exactly I downloaded it from. You'll have to do a google search.
