I have been waiting for the Q, but my old samsung is being held together with velcro and I don't think it will hold out much longer. If it's only a couple of weeks I can hold on. Much longer and I can't. So, do I wait for the Q, do I get a RAZR for the interim, or do I jump ship to the Blackberry 7130, the Treo 650 or 700 or the XV6700? I'd like a smart phone with voice dialing that several of these don't have. I'm at a loss what to do. HELP!
...
If you can hold off, I would, I suspect this will be released mid to end of April, and will be well worth it.
...
Don't wait. Battery life is a issue with the Q. Go with the Treo 650 - preferably on Cingular with longer battery life and consistant data coverage.
...
Where did you hear battery life is an issue?
...
Can't say. Sorry.
😉
...
Well for the record...I used my verizon 650 non-stop all day for everything possible and only had to charge mine every few days. So users if you use your phone an average amount, you only will have to charge it every few days.
...
HE WANTS VOICE DIALING. THE 650 DOESNT HAVE THAT!
...
don't get your panties in a bunch and start yelling in ALL CAPS.
FYI - yes, the treo 650 does.
...
I usually type in caps. Dont flatter yourself. Oh it does? Well it sure as hell didn't on mine. That would be the only reason to go to the 700. Your saying when your on your bluetooth, you can answer it from the headset and make a call from the headset? Interesting. I couldn't. How do I go about doing so?

for what it's worth - i went into a VZW store this weekend and was told that the Palm 700p (palm OS, not windows) will be coming out in a few weeks and before the Q. i asked about when the Q will finally be sold, the VZW rep wouldn't say.
...
I finally gave up on the Q and took the plunge on a 700W. So far, very good. I am very happy with the phone.
...
i like to know more about that 700p. whats the big difference, for al i can tell the only thing that i can tell is that it does not have windows.
thanks

after several bad experiences with MS-windows (viruses, security, hacking, etc...), i've decided to avoid msft at nearly all costs, including mobile windows.
i realize that palm OS may remain a small, niche product, but i'm weary of most msft products until they take their customers more seriously.

I really feel the need to say Palm is a child's OS, the only software that exists is 90% third-party and the only titles that don't crash the device are games, even the included versamail software has a tendency to crash the OS. Thus any legitimate smartphone user would use Windows or Symbian or Linux, which by the way have at least 3 times the virus and hack protection.
