Company Discounts

Does anyone know if I can use (or try) to use my employee discount (which claims to be 25%) on a new phone i.e.. the Q, to save some money on the full price phone? I'm only a year into my two-year plan so I doubt I can finagle a discount that way any other way.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or has anyone ever even used their company discount?

Corp discounts only apply if you are eligible for an upgrade. If you are only 1 year into your agreement you are not eligible.

So here's a fun scenerio...

My new-every-two was up in April, AND I have a company discount of like 17%. Does that mean that I could get the Q, with a 2-year plan for:

$299 - $100 = $199

$199 * .83 = $165

'cause that would be cool... Heck, maybe I could even get the company to kick in for half of that...

That 17% you're referring to more likely has to do solely with your access fee/month... If you're account is Corp or National (you would know) then you may qualify for the phone at a different price, not worded as a discount.

Right on. I've spent plenty of time on the horn with B2B CSRs of late. VerizonPro is correct.

All folks that qualify for a business discount get some % off their PRIMARY LINE if the monthly charge is OVER $34.99. Keep in mind that does not include extras such as VCast/Text/Data packages.

Then, dependant on the contract your company has...which is inpart due to it's size, you get a different % off of accessories, and/or reduced "promotional pricing" on phones. Oh, and the accessory and phone prices DO extend to other lines on your account.

My company for example, a fortune 500...#2 overall in a recent Forbes financial review 😁 , falls under the 10,000 - 14,000 line corporate package. In our case, at least, that equates to 19% o...

I work for Verizon Local(Landline, not Wireless), and I was talking to one of the reps there. He told me that if an employee of Verizon(either local or wireless) buys a phone at full retail, that you are entitled to 25% off.

According to him, that means the Q at 419.99 would only cost an employee 314.99.

That's about as close to the 2-year contract price of 299.99 that you are going to get(myself as well).

That's right on as well. An I'm pretty sure youi don't have to be an employee of anyone. I think anybody who choses to upgrade their phone early gets that treatment.

I tried to upgrade my phone about 6 months ago, which was 6 months early, and I was offered 25% off retail. I had a normal B2C account at that time.

Speaking of which, I just had an idea. I JUST upgraded to a 9800. I wonder if I could still get this 25% off deal. If so, I'd jump on it. That way, I could get the phone for 335ish after tax, and then jump on line and sell my 9800 for at least 250...120 more than I gave for it. That would put me in a Q with a 1 year contract for around 200 bucks. That'd be awesome.

The 25% off full retail program is actually only exposed to be done when your phone is lost or stolen. If Verizon Wireless already offered you that special then you are never eligble for that offer again. Also you have to sign a two year contract, there is no one year contract.

If you are an employee, it applies any time you buy a phone at full retail price. 😁

Yes I can confirm... when I sign in to company specific webiste extranet link the pricing is way different (lots lower on some handsets so so on others) vs the vzw.com webprices or the pricing when I sign in under my account. I have not reached my new every two date yet... Hopefully it will be there early next week...

You can get 25% off once every 12 months and it does require a two-year contract. If you just got the LG-VX9800, you're out of luck on that line.

I think we may have crossed lines on this one. I did get the 9800, but not via the 25% discount on retail pricing. The 9800 was purchased using standard promotional pricing at the end of my contract. The 25% was something I was offered 6 months ago, and turned down.

I returned it within the worry free guarantee period. I tracked it, and it was received yesterday at noon. Activated the 8th, postmarked for return the 17th, recieved in Fort Worth the 19th. So, as soon as they process the return, I will be back to square 1. New contract pricing.

Knowing that, do you think I could've gotten away with keeping the 9800, saying I dropped it in the toilet, and getting 25% off retail on the Q? Either way, too late now.
