Enabling EMS
The microsoft website gives the following instructions for enabling EMS. However, I do not think I am doing it correct. Can someone explain exactly what they did
To enable EMS processing support:
Register the COM component's GUID by creating the following registry key, and giving it the following name/value pair.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Text Shared
DWORD : EMSHandlerInstalled = 1

Okay well this reply is ages lates and I'm sorry about that...However I may have found the answer...first I downloaded a .cab file to tweak registry keys on the Q i beleive it PHS Registry...its at
www.freewebs.com/smartq
in the free download section.
Then I located the Key that microsoft directed me to when you search for enabling ems....then voila I created my own key in that folder and I'm currently testing to see if it work properly. đ

It does work when you do it this way....Just create the DWord key underneath the other folder....So now instead of it saying preceded message was blah blah could not be sent doesnt support EMs...now it actually sends long ass text mesgs to your phone....

where is the key that microsoft directed you to? also what did you put for the key you created?

Ok so you download the PHM software from freewebs.com/smartq from the hack or tweek software...
Next once software is installed on the Q.
You then locate the folder from registry key
and open each folder----
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Text Shared
So you would do...
Click to open "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
Then within that folder you see
"Software"
Then open withing that folder
"Microsoft"
Then within that subfolder open
"SMS"
Then open last subfolder
"TextShared"
Now that you have reached open space you click the menu option to create "New Registry Key"
and enter the following exactly as posted...
DWORD : EMSHandlerInstalled = 1
This will work for you! đŗ đ đ
Next once software is installed on the Q.

Anybody else still having trouble getting this to work? mstiffany7 this is all you had to do? you took a Q with no other edits and just added this and all of a sudden ems works? I'm doing exactly as told and I still get the preceding message error

well u have to download the software of course first and then you should see the folders and then you would just create new key once u reach the last subfolder and power cycle and then it works đŗ

After you go through all of these folders, the left soft key has "Value" and the right has "Menu" if you choose menu you can click "New Key" but then its like a folder. Are you supposed to name the folder DWORD: EMS... or are you supposed to create a key within the folder or what? i really need this and i cannot figure out how to get it. Please give EXTREMELY DETAILED instructions if you dont mind. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE =) thanks.

I got a .cab file from the PPCgeeks website and they have an MMS cab for the Mogul. I installed the .cab but when I try to open it it opens for a second then closes right away and goes into the Drafts box. I'm thinking this may be a resolution to the problem I am having I'll go ahead and try it when I get home and see if this is the resolution I am looking for. Other than that where can I get that file that microsoft wants us to download...on the Microsoft website?
