Motorola Q
Extended battery life - What's your experience?
I decided to measure the actual battery life of a typical day using the timers(Note: you can reset and view the timers under the Call History menu). Interestingly, the phonescoop specs list 240 minutes of talk time with what I believe is the std. battery - this is clearly not possible!
I am down to one bar after only around 80 minutes of talk today with minimal Internet and email use.
What are others experiencing in terms of battery life?
since i use 80 or so mins/day: my battery low warning typically appears in early evening.
i've read and followed ALL the suggestions in all forums _ BATTERY LIFE IS NOT CLOSE TO WHAT IS ADVERTISED...
I understand the 240 mins is under ideal conditions - but we are talking about an extended battery, that with extrapolation should run 300+ mins, we are only getting 80 mins.. (in NYC with strong coverage)
SO, if you bought a car advertising 24- 30 mpg - and you only get 8 mpg driving conservatively - that wouldn't bother you?
just like a cell phone battery, depending on what your usage is determines your battery life throughtout a day
Start / Settings / Connections / Beam
Shut off (un-check) "Receive Incoming Beams".
This really works.

im tired of you guys whining about the battery, if you read your owners manual it tells you to top it off when not using it, i dont have any problems with my battery
what does it mean when this person above states "tells you to top it off"
I don't know if this is a dumb question, but I would like to know bc my battery sucks
Fully acknowledges the fact that the battery life on the Q is not the greatest, putting it lightly.
I have a Q with the extended battery, and yes its had many full charge and discharge cycles, I'm not a noob, I know what Im doing. I shuold, since I work on a helpdesk and we give out Q's all the time to executives here.
1. For people who say they get 2 or 3 days out of the battery on their Q, ok fine I believe you.
However , almost ALL phones get about 2 or 3 days out of the battery on standby.
Standby means its not being used. Its the next best thing to being turned off.
2. Back in the real world, if you use your...

you are spot on.. the phone with extended barely lasts a day if you actually make calls...
