Extended battery life - What's your experience?
I purchased the Q with the extended battery and still find the battery life to be much less than my old V710 (also had extended battery). I have turned off bluetooth and IR beam.
I decided to measure the actual battery life of a typical day using the timers(Note: you can reset and view the timers under the Call History menu). Interestingly, the phonescoop specs list 240 minutes of talk time with what I believe is the std. battery - this is clearly not possible!
I am down to one bar after only around 80 minutes of talk today with minimal Internet and email use.
What are others experiencing in terms of battery life?

this is similar to my experience with many Q's and AFTER swapping many batteries.
since i use 80 or so mins/day: my battery low warning typically appears in early evening.
i've read and followed ALL the suggestions in all forums _ BATTERY LIFE IS NOT CLOSE TO WHAT IS ADVERTISED...

I understand the 240 mins is under ideal conditions - but we are talking about an extended battery, that with extrapolation should run 300+ mins, we are only getting 80 mins.. (in NYC with strong coverage)
SO, if you bought a car advertising 24- 30 mpg - and you only get 8 mpg driving conservatively - that wouldn't bother you?

to answer your question, no because depending on how i drive my car will determine what mileage i get! and besides i dont know anyone that bought a car and the gas mileage was excatly what was adertised.

I too have no problem--240 minutes of talk time while also giving me three days of standby. Fully cycle the battery 3-4 times when you first start using it.

There is a way to extend battery life by 30% or more. And it really does make a huge difference:
Start / Settings / Connections / Beam
Shut off (un-check) "Receive Incoming Beams".
This really works.

The simple fact that "Top off the battery" is mentioned in official documentation provided with the phone by Verizon,
Fully acknowledges the fact that the battery life on the Q is not the greatest, putting it lightly.

Nice summary. I'm seriously thinking about taking the plunge and getting a Seidio 2100 or 3200. I currently have the Verizon extended battery and because of the fact that I love this phone so much and use it so much, I would definitely feel better about having a longer lasting battery. I think I could live with the physical size of the Seidio 3200 battery, unless someone convinces me otherwise. I have a new 4GB card and i have loaded a tone of work stuff onto it for reference and even some document editing, etc. I am constantly charging my phone as it is. Could anyone comment on the Seidio 2100 or 3200?
