Q or XV6700?
I know there might be other threads floating around like this, but I have a particular situation. I'm a student, and was looking for a PDA/phone, or something like it. I don't know much about BlackBerry and how it differs from other PDAs. I mainly want to use whatever I get for school planning, calender use, and things that a basic PDA will offer. I won't even be getting a data package for online/email use, and I'm going to buy either one as a retail package (probably on eBay). That being said, which is a better choice?
P.S. I've looked into normal PDAs, without the phone tied into it, and I've realized that it'd be best for me to just get a PDA/phone.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
Compatable with slingplayer mobile??
Will the Q work with slingplayer mobile? Many websites I have checked say that sling player mobile does not yet work with non-touchscreen smartphones, but it will be out by the end of the month. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Push Email
I have read all of the posts and the answer is still not completely clear. I currently have a Blackberry 7750 and use the blackberry web client to push my pop3 email account. Can you get true "push email" with the Q for a pop3 account through some type of web client or does it only work on exchange server or other email server? Does anyone know if Good runs a web client or does their software only run on an email server? On a separate note, does anyone know if the Q can be tethered as a modem like the Blackberry 7130e?
Receiving email
Will you have to be in an EV-DO area to receive your emails from your company computer?
Plan selection?
Is there anyway you can just have a normal verizon plan with this phone or any other pda/smartphone? Cause on the web it says the cheapest plan you can get is 80 dollars. I'm not feeling that!
Internet Browsing
I currently use the Samsung 730 as almost a computer substitute for browsing the internet. I can do just about anything on it that I can do a normal computer. My question how will the Q work on the internet, specifically without the touch screen. How do you place the cursor to fill in a form or click on a link?
New Every Two = Worthless
This bothers me. From what I've been hearing, I won't be able to use my "New Every Two" to knock an extra hundred bucks off of this phone...
I'll be getting the voice and data plan, plus I've had my current phone for over two years. One would think that I'd be able to get this Q for 99 bucks if I sign up for the data plan, but no?
So then what good is my current "new every two" if I can't use it on the phone I want to get after two years? That sucks...

DUMMY PHONE!!!
My local Verizon store has the dummy for this phone. I am going to see it tmrw. They said it is the same as the acivated version but this one is not activated. They are supposed to get the aactivated one on June 1.
Voice and Data Plan
I may have read this wrong, but from reading the press release it seems as though we would have to sign up for a voice and data plan in order to get this phone? Or is that just to get that price? I just want a regular voice plan and pay as you go data... is this possible with this phone?

Q v. Treo 700w
Ok, I've looked over what I could find here and elsewhere regarding these two devices, and I'm not finding a lot of helpful discussion versus pre-launch speculation.
I need to make a decision, and I want forum input. Yes, I am part of the 710 settlement and need to pick a phone now meaning I'm going to have to get the treo, but the question will be should I keep it. If I ultimately want the Q, I'll have time my treo purchase just right so I can return it with in the 15 day window.
So far I only see two advantages in the Q - the first is size. The second is the screen resolution, but then again I think the screen is ultimately smaller than the Treo (and yes, there is a 700p with an increased resolution if you want the Palm OS).

Retail price
So does the retail price of $419.99 still stand for this?
Internet speed and media streaming on Q:
Is there an faster speed on Q phone than other verizon phones and is it possible for me to watch live streaming on media player on this phone?
One more question, when I tried to log on to internet on other phones, the browser page is not full on the screen, is there any way to make the page full according to the screen size?
Thanks in advance!!

How fast does VZW REALLY process returns???
I returned my phone to Verizon about a week ago, and it was received last Friday. I didn't expect it would be processed yet, but a CSR just told me it could take as much as two billing cycles to process.
I asked her to confirm that I might not be able to purchase another phone at promotional prices for two months, and she said yes, sometimes it takes that long. Then she advised I call back in two to three weeks.
Is that for real? I've worked in a JIT (just in time) business for years, and you can't just run two weeks behind. the only explanation, is that their PROCESS simply takes that long. Holy Cow, how long does it take to open a box, look at two pieces and go yep, they're there.
