Actually, cingular only used 850 in the "metro" areas. Most of the mid-west is 1900.

Phones have been listed before on here not specifing the 850 band, but actually were launched on cingular with that band... It is rare for that to happen though.

since it doesnt carry the 850 band my guess is NO ONE in the US will be carrying it.. So your best bet is EBAY or an independednt small vendor.. (i myself will go to chinatown- they seem to have the craziest phones available there..) 😎 once you get it obviously call tmobile and have them send mms and WAP settings over.. then youll be good to go. 😛

it cant be cingular... it doesnt have the 850mhz band. It has to be t-mobile or just offered through NokiaUSA.com directly like the 6670!

Cingular would not be able to carry this phone because they operate under the 850 band (Though you can roam in some locations on T-Mobile's 1900 and old AT&T's 1900). If this phone does hit a US carrier, it would come to T-Mobile. IMO, T-Mobile is making a mistake not snatching some of these phones nokia is producing, such as the 6230i, 3230, 3250, 7710, any and/or all Nokia fashion phones, 6111, and any and/or all Nokia N Series. That would totally get more customers.

well as you know.. generally neither tmobile nor cingular will get a phone without both 850 and 900 mhz running on the handset.. I forgot in my previous mention you can get the phone through nokia.com .. this one doesnt have the 850 band which isnt a big deal for tmobile as they run mostly in the 1900 band however if you go anywhere we have roaming coverage on 850 youll be sorry outta luck.. 😳

T-Mobile sells phones right now that do not have 850 mhz. Why would this one make a difference?

I used to work for t-mobile wireless and it's up to Nokia if they are going sell t-mobile a phone. Its not up to T-mobile to go out and get a certain phone.
