vibrate function on the C3
On my previous Samsung phone I could press and hold the # key to switch to, or exit from silent/vibrate mode. One key, one action. Simple.
All I can find on the C3 to use to switch to vibrate is by using Menu/Settings/Audio/Ringtone. By following this path, and then using the soft key to go through the options to the right, the next setting after Ringtone is Vibrate. The problem is that as soon as you get to the Ringtone step, the ringtone sounds. Press and hold the * key while on the 'home' screen.
It will change between vibrate and ringtone mode.
Another thing, any alarms you have set to "Wake-Up" will bypass this.

Now I feel really silly that I did not experiment with the * key before even asking the question since my former phone used the # key the same way. It's so logical that there would be some shortcut and it had to be one of the special symbols. Why different phone manufacturers can't mimic each other more is beyond me, but I guess we are luckly we even have as much uniformity as we do across brands.
