Putting MP3"s on micro SD card

I am sure this is quite the noob question but do MP3's need to be converted to be stored on a micro Sd card or should you be able to just drag and drop( cause that is not working for me) Thanks

yeah they need to be less that 192k bitrate, but mp3, aac and aac+ works fine
